Encrusting & Pelleting

Encrusting and Pelleting powders are used for better sowing abilities of seeds.
At the same time it is possible to add fertilizers and plant improvers, such as mycorrhiza.
Ad Terram has also developed a special water containing pill for sowing in dry areas.

“Seed that has been covered by a mix of materials which changes the original shape and size of the seed resulting in a substantial weight increase. The coating or encrusting may contain biologicals, identifying colorants or dyes, pesticides, and/or other ingredients.”

Why choose encrusting?

Encrustment is a thin layer of inert materials which creates a more smoother surface of the seed and increases the weight of the seeds. Precision planting is made possible which results in a more even crop stand.  Increasing the possibilities of adding micro-biologicals by mixing these compounds into the encrustment powders enables adding higher volumes of these compounds. Also encrustment can be used to add water retaining powder for sowing in dry areas.

“Pelleting is defined as the deposition of a layer of inert materials that may obscure the original shape and size of the seed, resulting in a substantial weight increase and improved plant ability”

Why choose pelleting?

Irregular and small shaped seeds can be covered with a layer of inert materials (pelleting) to a more spherical shape of the seeds or to add weight. This contributes to better sowability of the seeds and more uniformity in seed size.

The binders used by Ad Terram are free of intentionally added microplastics.
The powders used for the encrustment are from natural components and 100% certified organic.
